How To Get a Six Pack at Home

Many people want to know how to get a six pack at home. This is usually because they can’t find the time to go to the gym, it costs too much or they just don’t enjoy it. Whatever the reason may be, it really isn’t necessary to go to the gym to get six pack abs. It can easily be done at home with the help of a clear workout routine and diet plan.

So that being said, lets take a look at the best ab exercises that you can do at home. These workouts might be nothing new to you, but believe me these are the ones you want to focus on if you are ever going to get a six pack.

Before we dive in and take a closer look at some of these exercises, you should realize that to get abs you need to build abdominal muscles AND lose belly fat. It’s no good just training your stomach muscles you need to do the cardio work to ensure that you lose your stomach fat or else you’ll always have a layer of fat covering up your abs!

So lets start out with some abs workouts that will help build muscle.

The first ones that you should definitely do are Sit ups. These are great because they really do a fantastic job of strengthening your upper abs. Plus they’re dead simple to do in proper form. I’m not going to go into the nuts and bolts of that now, because you can read about how to do them in my best abs exercises post.

The second one that you may not have heard about is called the Leg Raise. This is great for exercising your lower abdominals which is critical if you are ever going to get a full six pack. Too many people ignore working their lower abs and end up with only a four pack or a pitiful 2 pack!

The last one that you should do is the Russian Twist. This is an essential workout because of the twisting motion. It’s really important that you do an exercise that trains the upper and lower abs as well as a twisting exercise which builds the entire mid section and this is the best one for that.

Using those six pack exercises you will see significant changes in your stomach muscles. They’ll become harder and tighter and may even begin to get toned up. But if you’ve got some stubborn belly fat, then you’ll have to do some exercises to get a flat stomach.

In my opinion, Interval cardio is the way to go. It may be seen as a rather unconventional method of cardio training – but trust me – this is the bread and butter of weight loss. The aim is to choose any cardiovascular exercise like running, swimming, biking etc. And then focus on intensity rather than pushing yourself to do it for hours on end.

So you may do 1 minute of slow easy jogging followed by 30 seconds of intense sprinting. Then you’ll do another minute or so in a chilled out jog followed by another half minute of high intensity sprinting and so on. This is a very effective way of burning fat and I will put my reputation on the line and say that you’ll get further in a month doing this then many people get in years of standard cardio.

Now you know the sorts of home exercises you can do to get a six pack. But what about diet? Eating the right foods and getting the nutrition you need for a six pack is the next step. For this you should check out my post about the best six pack abs diet plan. This includes everything you need to eat to get a six pack fast.
