Home Workouts & Practice

Just got back from a Saturday workshop on how to stimulate your home practice–Iyengar Yoga.  It was helpful and some of the twists and openers (hip and shoulder) were great (slightly painful too!).  I’m also back to the OT this week.
I did figure out that IF I’m going to get this weight training in, it will have to be before I get to bed (hopefully before 2am).  I’m absolutely not physically ready to slam to rubber before 11am.  That’s where the aerobic and Yoga works in well.  I’m also trying to get in a steady walk every day.  Also thinking about how to fit in swimming laps in the morning… if I can.
PROTEIN… hey, I’m never sure about counting grams… so I just gear the majority of my intake to a protein-oriented sense of food.  I drink as much water as I can stand… and keep my veggie intake to salads, brocolli and other veggies that are carbo-lite.  I’m feeling better, but there is a lot more “tweeking” that needs to be done.  Let’s face it, not many of us can play-the-scale game when we’re trying to work OT, and handle families.
CREATININE… Would like to hear more about that.  As I’ve stated before… walking into a GNC is a little frightening for me… oweing to the fact I don’t know a dammed thing about what any of those witch-doctor things do to ya.  I’m already big enough (351 lb), and I don’t need to bulk up… getting stronger, yes… larger…NO!
“Ah-Nold!!!”…Let me state that I am dead against the Recall!!!  We’ve just pissed over $67 million down the drain!!!  Given a choice… I’ll vote for Bustamonte.  Having said that… I think Arnold is probabily the nicest guy on the planet, for the most part.  I think he’s pretty real, and does care, in a genuine way about what he puts himself out there for.  BUT… politically, I think he’s really out of his league.  Being Governor of a state is a bitch!  Being a governer of California is NUTS!!!  Anyone who thinks they can deal with homosexual-rights, big business, and all the other nasty stuff that lands on your desk, has to be a far better man than I am.  It’s one thing to want the title… it’s quite another to solve the problems… Gray Davis might not be “Mr. Personality” but he’s smart enough and capable enough, with all the right tools, to sort these things out.  Running California is A LOT tougher than most people think.  As far as the trash-talking goes…. Hey, everyone has skeletons in their closet… when you get to be a big enough personality, more people want to open the doors and look around.

I don’t think Arnold has done anything so horrible that he should be put on the public barbeque for.  That being said, this “chicken” attitude he’s taken to the debates only shows me that he is a candidtate with little potential, versatility, and vision.  IF you want to rumble in politics, you best be ready to debate at anytime, sell your vision at any time, and be up front when the verbage is flying.  This “knowing the questions” bull is the sign of a slacker.  Guess, the cult-of-personality has more reality than we know…  I guess it’s too bad Charleton Heston isn’t a democrat anymore… then we could have Moses/Ben-Hur facing off against the “Terminator/Conan the Barbarian”… but let’s be real… this is MTV Death-Match stuff, not real politics.

Hope everyone has a good week.
